Cruising asymmetrical spinnakers - V0,V3,V5

V0

Designed for light to moderate air close reaching, the V0 offers light wind performance at angles closer to the wind than ever thought possible on a cruising boat. Derived from the famous “Code Zero” sails developed for V0 60’s and other racing boats, and adapted to the special design criteria of the modern cruising sailor, they are 40% larger than a typical furling genoa, 70% of the size of a maximum area spinnaker. While dramatically enhancing light air performance, the V0 allows the primary roller furling genoa design to be a true workhorse; smaller, stronger, and easier to handle, making it more useful in the heart of typical cruising conditions. It provides the perfect solution for the offshore passagemaker who doesn’t want to be saddled with a big genoa and the need to change sails in windy conditions.

The V0 can be set on it’s own furling system for the ultimate ease in handling.

V3

The v3 is a full size reaching and all purpose asymmetrical. Design makes the v3 ideal for broad reaching angles, projecting the maximum amount of area to weather of the centerline when eased. The v3 is extremely stable, with a forgiving entry which makes it very easy to trim, performing well across a wide range of trim settings. It's race derived full tri-radial layout, with Spectra luff rope and glued, tear drop corner reinforcement system, make it strong, reliable, and extremely versatile. Like all Vision cruising asymmetricals, the v3 is capable of reaching at wind angles no ordinary cruising spinnaker can. It is perfect for heavier displacement boats and provides turbo performance for all others.

Handling can be simplified with a sock.

V5

Perhaps the most versatile asymmetrical, the v5 comes as close as possible to being the perfect all-purpose offwind sail. Smaller and even easier to handle than a full sized v3, it provides un-matched reaching performance with good downwind speed. With typical girths of 90% or less, it design is geared towards tighter wind angles than traditional cruising spinnakers. It takes full advantage of the structural advances and three dimensional shaping characteristics of the modern asymmetrical. The v3 can be carried well inside a beam reach, even in moderate wind conditions.

At the same time, the v5 projects enough area to weather to deliver all-around broad reaching speed. It is the perfect size for the short-handed crew, and is particularly well adapted to today'more easily driven hull forms and lighter displacement. With it's strength, specialized shaping, and moderate size, the v5 can be comfortably used in breezy conditions as well.

Cruising Storm Jib - Φλόκος Θυέλλης

When nothing but the ultimate in reliability will do, Quantum storm sails are engineered with the sea's most demanding conditions in mind, and finished with a generous nod to time honored, proven construction techniques.

The storm jib has to be the most reliable sail, (along with the storm trysail), in the inventory. Quantum relies on time proven traditional techniques to produce a sail you can count on when the going gets rough. The finest woven polyester, oversized reinforcemnet throughout, and the very best hardware are the components. While it utilizes the latest laser cutting technology and computer aided design, it is the hand craftsmanship and traditional details that insure uncompromising reliability.

The other key to proper a proper storm jib is fit. Quantum does not produce off-the-shelf triangles of approximately the right size, but instead takes the time to measure the boat, check the geometry, consider the sheeting point, righting moment, rig configuration, and other boat layout details. The sail is custom fit and tailored to fit your boat like a glove. It is only this approach than can assure that the sail provides the ultimate in convenience, safety, and durability.
